Autumn 2018 – Boat trips and bramble picking trips…

29th October 2018
After a busy Summer we've had a brilliant Autumn filled with visiting friends and boat trips. We went out from Elgol on the Bella Jane to Loch Coruisk and also on Calums Seals Trips from Plockton - both are great for families - really easy to book, excellent customer service and we had really good fun with the crew on both trips. Sadly our little one refused to drive the boat on both occasions. We also got the canoe out for the first and probably only time this year. We have higher hopes for next year!

A trip(!) while picking the last of the Brambles left me with a fractured elbow, which is my excuse for our laziest blog post so far.

A selection of moths trapped on a single evening. Sadly there were not many opportunities this Autumn for getting the trap out. It didn't really stop raining.
Basketry Willow growing well - looking forward to harvesting after the leaves drop.
Orange Peel Fungus
Proof that the sun did make a brief appearance one morning.
We had a beautiful weekend at the end of October as we turned the clocks back. Snow appeared on the hills and there were several clear days with blue skies.

We are hoping for many more days like this over Winter...

We were very lucky to have the immensely talented photographer, Gaelle Brunet, stay with us in October and take beautiful photographs of the Bothy - you can see Gaelle's work here
